The Ministries’ Joint Working Group on Premises: Framework Plan on Government Premises and Joint Services, 14/2012

Summary

The Ministries' Joint Working Group on Premises, established by the Ministry of Finance, has prepared a framework plan, extending up to 2015, on Government premises and joint services. The premises of the ministries cover a floor area of 160,000 m2 in the so-called Government campus, which is situated in Helsinki city centre. Under the framework plan, the functions of the ministries will be located in more integrated premises in close proximity to the Government Palace, the joint use of premises will be increased and joint, cost-effective user services will be arranged for the Government campus. In addition to cost savings, the goal of the plan is the comprehensive improvement of working environments in accordance with the outlines of the central government premises strategy, such that premises support the functions of ministries, and premises solutions safeguard the overall benefit and social responsibility of central government. The plan also includes an indicative basic improvement plan for Government buildings, extending up to 2016, as well as ministry-specific plans to enhance use of space and a proposal on premises remaining in the Government’s use.
